NASSCOM to host  Bengal Entrepreneurs’ Summit on Technology on Jan 19, over 400 companies to participate

Kolkata: NASSCOM, the premier trade body of IT and ITeS sector, on Wednesday announced its Bengal Entrepreneurs’ Summit on Technology carnival will take place on Jan 19 in Kolkata where more than 400 companies will partcipate.

Sanjoy Chatterjee, Chairman, Eastern Regional Council, NASSCOM said: "Our tickets are completely sold."

"With major MNCs setting up bases in Kolkata, we at NASSCOM feel that it is the right opportunity to showcase the BEST," said Sanjoy Chatterjee.

"We will have a special focus on startups in the event," he said.

He said out of the over 400 participants in the event, 25 percent will be startup companies.

"BEST will also aim to discuss improving collaboration to support startups and businesses in and around West Bengal using technology," he said.

Speaking on the startup situation of the state, Sanjoy Chatterjee said: "NASSCOM has so far incubated 221 startups in the region so far."

He said out of the 221 startups 79 got funded and 49 received second level funding.

BEST will be attended by Indian Product and IT Services Companies and Tech Start-ups, Government & Multinational Product and Service Companies, CIOs, CMOs, CTOs, Outsourced Product Development Companies along with System Integrators and Services & Non-Tech Companies investment community including VCs, Private Equity, Angels, Seed Funds, Incubators, Accelerators & Academic Institutes.
