Nifty closes one point short of its 2016 closing high
Mumbai, Apr 26 (IBNS) At the close of business on Tuesday, Sensex was up 328.37 points at 26007.30 and Nifty was up 107.60 points at 7962.65 (just one point short of its 2016 closing high so far).
A rally in banking and large-cap stocks as well as gains in European shares and a recovery in oil prices boosted the performance of the leading benchmarks.
Some of the top stocks that were gainers on Tuesday were Maruti Suzuki, Tata Steel, Cipla, BHEL and Lupin.
The losers included Hero MotoCorp, Adani Ports, Reliance, Bajaj Auto and Dr Reddy's.
