Early trends showed a huge jump in mobiles, appliances, personal electronics and furniture items, it said.
The sale had a trigger-happy start with nearly 700,000 concurrent users flocking to the site within the first 5 minutes.
Buyers who had made up their minds had already stocked millions of products in their carts and wishlists before the sale started to avoid missing out on their chosen products.
Snapdeal said the top selling mobile phones in the first 8 hours of the sale were the Samsung J2 Pro and the LeEco Le Max2, which flew off the shelf with big discounts padded by additional instant discount on Citibank Cards.
In the first 8 hours of the sale, nearly one lakh mobile phones were sold at Snapdeal, translating to nearly 200 phones sold per minute.
Voltas 5 Star Split 1.2 T ACs at nearly Rs 20,000 was also a hot selling item.
Sony pen drives also seemed to have caught the buyers’ fantasy with 16GB pen drives selling at Rs 199.
Nearly 24,000 pen drives with a collective capacity of nearly 400 TBwere snapped up in the first 8 hours of sale, the online marketplace said.
