Mumbai/UNI: The Rupee on Friday rallied 24 paise to close strong at 73.51 against the US Dollar due to brisk selling of US Dollar by bankers and exporters, dealers at the Forex Market said.

In the opening session, the local unit rose by nine paise to 73.66 against the greenback. Till the end of the session, it surged 24 paise to finish strong at 73.51 as compared to its previous close.

The local unit registered the days high and low at 73.68 and 73.48 respectively.

The Rupee spurted owing to the weak dollar against the other world currencies amid a strong equity market, dealers added.
