Sensex crashes over 600 points

Mumbai/UNI: The BSE Sensex on Thursday crashed by 642.56 pts at 51,936.20 as selling pressure was seen across the board.

The Nifty too slipped 182.40 pts at 15,564.05.

The Sensex registered intra-day high and low at 52,673.69 and 51,802.73 pts respectively. The Nifty registered intra-day high and low at 15,767.50 and 15,513.45 pts respectively.

The Mid Cap and Small Cap slipped by 1.27 pc and 1.46 pc respectively. In 30 scrips, 5 advanced while 25 declined.

The losers were Dr Reddy's Lab by 3.05 pc to Rs 4698.55, L& T by 2.74 pc to Rs 1564.15, Axis Bank by 2.31 pc to Rs 714.85, HDFC Bank by 2.12 pc to Rs 1409.30 and HDFC by 2.10 pc to Rs 2383.55.

The gainers were Hind Unilever by 0.85 pc to Rs 2362.60, Bajaj Finserv by 0.75 pc to Rs 13,904.45, Titan by 0.41 pc to Rs 1738.45 and Bharti Airtel by 0.02 pc to Rs 540.55.
