Sensex crosses 80,000 mark for the first time
Touching a landmark moment, the 30-stock Sensex has crossed the 80,000 mark on Wednesday.
At around 9.15 am, the BSE Sensex added 0.72% to touch a record 80,013.77 points.
On the other hand, the NSE Nifty 50 surged 0.7% to hit 24,291.75 points.
It is the first time the Sensex crossed the 80,000 mark.
During early trading hours, HDFC Bank rose by 3.5 percent.
