Sensex down over 300 points

Mumbai/UNI: The BSE Sensex on Wednesday further declined by 346 pts to open at 48,815.49 as heavy selling was seen across the board.

The Nifty too slipped by 106.15 pts to 14,744.60.

The Sensex registered intra days high and low at 49,171.28 and 48,783.55 pts respectively.

The Nifty registered intra days high and low at 14,824.05 and 14,728.15 respectively.

The Mid Cap fell by 0.27 pc while the Small Cap rose by 0.14 pc.

In 30 scrips 27 declined while 3 advanced.

The losers were HDFC by 1.79 pc to Rs 2419, M & M by 1.77 pc to Rs 761.85, Hind Unilever by 1.64 pc to Rs 2363.40, Tech Mahindra by 1.36 pc to Rs 963 and Nestle India by 1.37 pc to Rs 16,640.

The gainers were Powergrid by 2.22 pc to Rs 228.40, NTPC by 1.64 pc to Rs 114.50, L& T by 0.29 pc to Rs 1387.70, SBI by 0.18 pc to Rs 365.10 and Bajaj Auto by 0.03 pc to Rs 3883.75.
