Sensex falls by over 300 points

Mumbai/UNI: The BSE Sensex Thursday lost further by 383 points to open at 59,073.84 on selling in Utilities, Auto, Bankex and Capital Goods stocks.

The Nifty too eased 60.20 points at 17,658.15.

The Sensex registered days high and low at 59,184.65 and 58,973.07 points respectively.

The Nifty recorded days high and low at 17,671.70 and 17,580.40 points respectively.

The Mid Cap moved up 0.16 per cent and Small Cap by 0.48 per cent.

In 30 scrips, 8 advanced while 22 declined.

The losers were HDFC by 1.41 per cent to Rs 2425.50, Tech Mahindra by 1.39 per cent to Rs 1945.35, Bajaj Finserv by 1.38 per cent to Rs 1777.10, Wipro by 1.17 per cent to Rs 396.10 and HCL Technology by 1.02 per cent to Rs 891.90.

The gainers were ITC by 0.84 per cent to Rs 343.90, IndusInd Bank by 0.40 per cent to Rs 1228.75, Bharti Airtel by 0.32 per cent to Rs 782.90 and Hind Unilever by 0.27 per cent to Rs 2636.65.
