Sensex jumps 612.21 pts

The BSE Sensex on Wednesday rallied 612.21 pts to close high at 71,752.11 on the strength of Health Care, Realty and Auto stocks amid strong global cues.

The National Stock Exchange (NSE) gained 203.60 pts at 21,725.79.

The NSE registered days high and low at 21,741.35 and 21,448.85 pts respectively.

Slumping over 800 pts on Tuesday, the Sensex opened at 71,073.04, fell 66 pts. Later, it was zoomed 712 pts at 71,851.39, days high, before closing at 71,752.11, surging 612.21 pts from its previous close.

The stocks that lifted the market were Health Care by 2.67 pc followed by Realty by 2.29 pc, Auto by 1.77 pc and BSE services by 1.60 pc.

The Mid Cap gained 1.57 pc while Small Cap by 1.83 pc.

In 30 scrips, 28 advanced while 2 declined.

The gainers were Sun Pharma by 3.42 pc to by 1418.50, Tata Motors by 2.90 pc to Rs 884.20, Bajaj Finserv by 2.28 pc to Rs 1627.15, Maruti Suzuki by 2.27 pc to Rs 10,183.30 and SBI by 2.24 pc to Rs 640.55.

The losers were L & T by 4.22 pc to Rs 3480.15 and Titan by 1.03 pc to Rs 3697.40.
