Sensex moves down 376.46 points

The BSE Sensex on Tuesday tanked 376.46 pts at 71,892.48 as selling was seen in Auto, Capital Goods and Realty stocks amid weak global cues.

The National Stock Exchange (NSE) fell 76.10 pts at 21,665.80.

The NSE was days high and low at 21,755.60 and 21,555.60 pts respectively.

The Sensex opened higher at 72,332.85, rising 61 pts. It remained days high. Later, it was dropped nearly 658 pts at 71,613 days low, before closing at 71.892.48, sliding 379.46 pts from its previous close.

The stocks that dragge the market were Auto, Bankex, Capital Goods and Realty stocks. Capital Goods by 1.42 pc, Auto by 1.32 pc, Bankex by 1.16 pc and Realty by 1.04 pc.

The Mid Cap fell by 0.08 pc and Small Cap by 0.03 pc.

In 30 scrips, 8 advanced while 22 down.

The losers were Kotak Bank by 2.56 pc, Ultracemco by 2.41 pc to Rs 10208.95, M& M by 2.35 pc to Rs 1663.65, L& T by 2.34 pc to Rs 3440 and ICICI Bank by 1.88 pc to Rs 982.45.

The gainers were Sun Pharma by 2.85 pc to Rs 1295.75, Bajaj Finance by 1.76 pc to Rs 7427.20, Bharti Airtel by 1.06 pc to Rs 1023.75 and Reliance Industries by 0.79 pc to be 2610.20.

The Asian Market was seen weak, as Hang Seng declined by 1.54 pc, Straits Times fell by 0.32 pc and Taiwan Weighted by 0.43 pc.
