Sensex rises 25 pts

Mumbai/UNI: The BSE Sensex on Thursday slightly improved 25 points at 60,130.71 in opening trade as buying was seen in Commodities, Consumer Discretionary Goods and services and Industrials stocks.

While, the Nifty fell 15 points at 17,879.85.

The Sensex registered intra day high and low at 60.290 and 60,077 points respectively.

The Nifty recorded intra day high and low at 17,945 and 17,877 points respectively.

The Mid Cap rose 0.18 per cent and small Cap by 0.33 per cent.

In 30 scrips 15 advanced while 15 declined.

The gainers were Ultracemco by 1.37 per cent to Rs 7119.75, L & T by 1.12 per cent to Rs 2148.55, HCL Technology by 1.03 per cent to Rs 1065.65 and Titan by 0.92 per cent to Rs 2460.

The losers were Asian Paints by 1.08 per cent to Rs 2908.25, Industrials by 0.71 per cent to Rs 1461, Axis Bank by 0.68 per cent to Rs 943.50 and ICICI Bank by 0.50 per cent to Rs 863.50.
