Sensex up by over 300 points

Mumbai/UNI: The BSE Sensex on Friday smartly recovered 339.23 pts to 65,580.01 in the opening session as buying was seen across the board.

The Nifty gained 107.40 points to 19,489.05.

The stocks, especially IT and technology, lifted the market.

The midcap slipped by 0.47 percent and the small cap by 0.81 percent.

In 30 scrips, 24 advanced, 5 declined, and one remained unchanged.

The gainers were Wipro by 2.43 pc to be 409.25, HCL Technology by 2.29 pc to be Rs 1150.75, TCS by 2.05 pc to be 3469.35, Tech Mahindra by 1.91 pc to be Rs 1164.10, and Infosys by 1.38 pc to be Rs 1384.25.

The losers were Bajaj Finserv by 0.62 pc to Rs 1485.60, Powergrid by 0.58 pc to Rs 247.20, Hind Unilever by 0.45 pc to Rs 2539.65, and Tata Motors by 0.34 pc to Rs 616.70.
