New Delhi: Renault Group has appointed Stephane Deblaise as the new Chief Executive Officer for its India operations, effective September 1, 2025, according to a press release on Monday.

The move marks a strategic shift as the French automaker sharpens its focus on the Indian market, positioning it as a key pillar of its global growth strategy.

Deblaise, who currently serves as CEO of Renault Korea, brings over two decades of experience within the Group across diverse international roles.

In his new position, he will oversee the execution of Renault Group’s strategy in India, with all local entities reporting to him.

He will report directly to François Provost, Chief of Procurement, Partnerships, and Public Affairs at Renault Group.

Venkatram Mamillapalle, Managing Director of Renault India Private Limited, will continue to support Deblaise, particularly in corporate affairs and structuring the Group’s mid-term growth roadmap for the Indian market.

Aged 52, Deblaise is a graduate of Telecom Physique Strasbourg and IFP School. He began his career at Saft Batteries before joining Renault in 2000 as an Advanced Process Engineer.

Over the years, he has held several key leadership positions including Chief Vehicle Engineer for the Entry Program in Latin America, Vice President for Product Planning & Programs at Dongfeng-Renault in China, and Program Director for the C&D segment in France.

In his most recent role at Renault Korea, Deblaise led significant transformation initiatives—modernising the Busan plant for multi-energy vehicle production and establishing the subsidiary as a global hub for mid- and large-sized vehicle development.

His appointment signals Renault’s renewed commitment to the Indian market, where it seeks to leverage Deblaise’s experience in international turnarounds and product development to scale operations and future-proof its local strategy.
