Tata Housing bags CII-ITC Sustainability Award 2014

Mumbai /Kolkata, Dec 20 (IBNS): Continuing its winning streak, Tata Housing Development Company (Tata Housing), a real estate company, on Saturday announced its receipt of the prestigious CII-ITC Sustainability Award 2014.
The company was conferred the award at the CII-ITC Sustainability Function at the Le Meridian Hotel in New Delhi,  for its outstanding achievements and commitment to shaping a future that is more sustainable and inclusive.
 
Tata Housing was adjudged the Most Sustainable Company by the CII-ITC Centre of Excellence for Sustainable Development, under category B which comprises companies with a turnover ranging from Rs. 500 crore to Rs. 2000 crore. 
 
It has also been awarded the Outstanding Accomplishment Award which recognizes the company's efforts in adopting the internationally acclaimed approach of Triple Bottom-line in integrating people, planet and profit.  
 
Receiving the honour, Brotin Banerjee, MD & CEO, Tata Housing Development Corporation said, "This award is a recognition of Tata Housing's continued efforts towards economic growth with a conscientious focus on sustainable practices that help reduce inequality and rejuvenate the environment. The company endeavors to be carbon positive and water neutral with a safety and quality rating of 9 each by 2018-19 and is leaving no stone unturned to achieve this milestone. We thank the committee for this award which only encourages us to strive towards these targets and help create a sustainable business and macro-system."
 
Instituted in 2006, the CII-ITC Sustainability Awards recognise and reward excellence in businesses that are seeking ways to be more sustainable and inclusive in their activities, to support the most significant contributions and encourage the leaders of this revolution. 
 
Winners of this Award are India's Most Sustainable - role models that inspire all business to follow suit. 
 
The selection process is based on the EFQM Business Excellence Model uniquely aligned to triple-bottom-line performance. Tata Housing was adjudged the winner from over 50 companies that applied across the industry basis meticulous scrutiny by an illustrious judging panel.
