Tata Motors Q3FY25 profit declines 22% to Rs 5,451 cr

Mumbai: Tata Motors reported a 22% year-on-year (YoY) decline in its third-quarter profit on Wednesday as weak performance in both its Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) and domestic car segments weighed on earnings, Reuters reported.

The company's profit fell to Rs 5,451 crore ($630 million) in Q3 FY25, down from Rs 7,025 crore in the corresponding quarter last year.

As per LSEG data, analysts had projected a profit of Rs 6,742 crore.

JLR’s pre-tax profit dropped 12% during the quarter, while earnings from Tata Motors’ domestic car business declined by 38%.

Analysts had earlier cautioned that heavy discounts offered by both divisions to drive demand could impact profitability, the report said.

JLR contributes over two-thirds of Tata Motors' total revenue, with the luxury unit’s Range Rover Sport SUV serving as a key revenue driver for the Indian automaker.
