Tata Power's UMPP benefits the lives of over 1000 children through Shala Pravesh Utsav in Kutch
Tata Power has always been a front runner for the cause of education & prosperity of the children, in and around its operational areas. In line with this commitment, CGPL, in partnership with the Government of Gujarat and the respective panchayat, organised this program aimed to drive encouragement among the parents to enroll their wards in schools.
The special focus for the Shala Pravesh Utsav program is on raising awareness on enrolling the girl child in schools, emphasizing on importance of education for all. The overall program impacted over 1000 students, especially the new entrants of 1st and 5th standards and the girl child.
The program significantly helped in the holistic development of the students and would help to sustain the new enrolment in schools for the future.
Speaking on the noble initiative, K. K. Sharma, ED and CEO- CGPL, said, “We at Tata Power have always emphasized on the importance of education for the children in our operational areas. Our initiatives is aimed at providing a holistic development of students to build a brighter and better future and reinforces our commitment towards building the power of the nation – its Youth. We are overwhelmed by the response received and profusely thank the local Panchayats, Government bodies and school teachers and principals who aided towards the success of the program. We, in future will always strive hard to reach out to every possible household to ensure education reaches to every student in our operational areas, especially girl child. Further, we are also thankful to the Government of Gujarat and panchayat for inviting us and make the program a grand success.”
