Vietnamese delegation urges biz community to explore opportunities in Khanh Hoa Province

Kolkata: The Permanent Vice-Chairman of the People's Committee of Vietnam's Khanh Hoa Province Le Hau Hoang Friday urged the Indo-Vietnam Solidarity Committee (IVSFC)  to acquaint the local business community here with the rich resources of his home state.

Le Hau Hoang, who led a twenty-member business delegation from Khanh Hoa Province of Vietnam from Sept 15-16 to Kolkata, underscored that such efforts would make the businesses here desirous to explore business relations with the province.

Indo-Vietnam Solidarity Committee felicitated the visiting delegation at its office today.

Hoang spoke at length about the long-standing friendly ties between Vietnam and India and requested

Till now, the focus of the business community is to develop business relations with Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, he noted.

He also stressed the need to have more and more exchanges of youth delegations as the youth may play a vital role in the further development of relations between the two countries.

Hoang also offered to grant scholarships for higher education to five deserving students from Kolkata and West Bengal.

Solidarity Committee’s Vice-President Prem Kapoor highlighted the 2000 years old bilateral relations between the two countries and also said that Kolkata has always shared the emotional bonds of friendship with Vietnam since the days it was struggling for Independence.

Other distinguished speakers included Goutam De, the former Regional Director of ICCR; Poet Amitabho Chakraborty; Secretary General of Solidarity Committee Dr Pravamayee Samantaray, who conducted the proceedings of the event and proposed a vote of thanks to the dignitaries. Other distinguished participants who were present at the event were Arvind Kori, Bimal Sharma, Arati Singh, Shahid Hussain Shahid, Gajendra Chaube and others.
