6 earthquake hits Japan, no tsunami warning issued
Tokyo, Aug 20 (IBNS): An earthquake measuring 6 at the Richter Scale hit Japan's Sanriku Oki region on Saturday, officials said.
The epicentre of the quake was located at 40.3 degrees north latitude and 143.9 degrees east longitude.
As per the the Japan Meteorological Agency website the quake hit at a depth of 10 kilometres.
No tsunami warning has been issued.
"This earthquake poses no tsunami risk," read the Japan Meteorological Agency website.
No casualty has been reported so far.
