At 10,488 fresh Covid cases, India registers lowest active infections in 17 months

New Delhi/IBNS: Continuing the dip in COVID-19 cases, India registered 10,488 new infections in the last 24 hours, the Union Health Ministry said in its daily bulletin on Sunday.

The country's active caseload currently stands at 1,22,714, the lowest in 532 days.

Active cases also account for less than 1% of total cases, currently at 0.36 percent, which is the lowest since March 2020.

India's recovery rate is currently at 98.30 percent, which is the highest since March 2020, according to the Health Ministry's bulletin.

Around 12,329 recoveries have been recorded in the last 24 hours, which increased the total recoveries to 3,39,22,037.

Meanwhile, 116.50 cr vaccine doses have been administered so far under the Nationwide Vaccination Drive.
