India adds 31,443 COVID-19 cases in 24 hours, lowest in 118 days

New Delhi/IBNS: In a positive picture, India on Tuesday added 31,443 new COVID-19 cases in 24 hours, reporting the lowest daily figure in the last 118 days.

The recovery rate has further improved to 97.28% as 3,00,63,720 COVID-19 patients have recovered so far in the country.

In the last 24 hours, 49,007 coronavirus patients have recovered from the respiratory disease.

As per the data provided by the Union Health Ministry, 38.14 crore vaccine doses have been administered so far under Nationwide Vaccination Drive.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is holding a meeting with Chief Ministers of the northeastern states on Tuesday, ahead of a possible third wave of the virus.

The Prime Minister is meeting the CMs of Assam, Nagaland, Tripura, Sikkim, Manipur, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh and Mizoram, amid the rising positive cases in the northeastern states.
