India records massive surge in daily cases with 1,59,632 new infections in last 24 hours

Covid cases, India witnessed 1,59,632 new infections in the last 24 hours.

New Delhi/IBNS: In a whopping rise of Covid cases, India witnessed 1,59,632 new infections in the last 24 hours.

The fresh cases included 3,623 infections of the Omicron variant reported across 27 states and union territories.

India's active caseload currently stands at 5,90,611, at 1.66 percent.

The country's recovery rate is currently at 96.98 percent with 40,863 recoveries in the last 24 hours.

Maharashtra has the highest number of Omicron cases at 1,009.

Meanwhile, about 151.58 crore vaccine doses have been administered so far under Nationwide Vaccination Drive.
