India registers 22,889 COVID-19 cases in 24 hours

New Delhi: India once again reported a fall in the daily count of COVID-19 cases as 22,889 new cases were registered in the past 24 hours, as per Ministry of Health released data on Friday.

The total number of COVID-19 positive cases in the country since the first instance was reported no stands at  99,79,447.

During the same 24 hours period, 338 deaths have been reported due to COVID-19.

The death toll due to the highly infectious disease in the country now stands at 144789.

So far, 9520827 people have been discharged from hospitals after treatment.

There are 313831 active cases in the country at present.
