New Delhi: India registered 27,176 new COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours, as per data released by the Ministry of Health on Wednesday.

During the same period, 284 people died due to the virus.

India registered less than 30,000 cases for the past four days.

Active cases account for 1.05% of total cases.

India's Active caseload stands at 3,51,087.

Recovery Rate currently at 97.62%.

38,012 recoveries in the last 24 hours increases Total Recoveries to 3,25,22,171.

Experts believe India might soon witness a deadly third wave of the COVID-19 as the long festive season is currently being observed across the country.

During the deadly second wave, India witnessed a rise in COVID-19 cases which left hospital beds and oxygen supply in shortage.

Even the spike in deaths left crematoriums and burial grounds overwhelmed.
