India registers 8,306 fresh COVID-19 cases amid detection of nine new Omicron cases in Jaipur

New Delhi: India, a nation which has detected over 20 cases of Omicron so far, recorded 8,306 new COVID-19 cases in the past 24 hours, as per the Ministry of Health released data on Monday.

India's Active caseload currently stands at 98,416, which is the lowest in 552 days.

Active cases account for less than 1 percent of total cases.

Recovery Rate currently stands at 98.35 percent.

8,834 recoveries were registered in the past 24 hours.

Meanwhile, 211 new deaths due to the disease were recorded in the past 24 hours.

Nine members of a family tested positive for Omicron variant of COVID-19 in Jaipur, media reports said on Sunday.

The national tally of the variant now stands at 21.
