India registers lowest fresh COVID-19 cases in three months
New Delhi/UNI: India in the past 24 hours recorded 46,791 fresh COVID-19 cases, lowest in nearly three months, as per the Union Health Ministry update on Tuesday.
The number of deaths from the virus in the same period were counted at 587, the data shows.
With the new additions, the total number of cases have surged to 75,97,064 while the death toll reached 1,15,197.
According to the ministry, as many as 69,720 more patients were cured, taking the total number of recoveries to 67,33,328 in numbers and 88.63 in percentage.
The death rate stands at 1.52 per cent.
There are 7,48,538 active cases which comprises 9.85 per cent of the total caseload.
According to the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), as many as 10,32,795 samples were tested in the past 24 hours.
