India registers over 44000 COVID-19 cases in past 24 hours

New Delhi: India, the second worst hit COVID-19 nation in the world, has recorded  44,281 new cases in the past 24 hours, Ministry of Health data revealed.

India also added 512 COVID-19 deaths during the same period.

Following the latest additions, the death toll due to the highly infectious disease now stands at 127571.

There are 4,94,657 active cases in the country at present.

It marked a slight decrease of 6,557 cases in the 24-hour period.

So far, 8013783 people have been cured.

On Tuesday, 50,326 discharges were reported.
