India reports 1,033 Covid-19 cases in 24 hours

New Delhi/IBNS: India reported 1,033 Covid-19 cases while the toll went up by 43 in the last 24 hours, the Union Health Ministry said on Thursday.

In the same span of time, 1,222 Covid-19 patients have recovered.

The recovery percentage now stands at 98.76%.

The active cases now comprise 0.03% of the total cases.

Under the national vaccination drive, 185.20 crore anti-Covid vaccine doses have so far been administered in the country.

Meanwhile, India on Wednesday reported its first  XE variant of the virus in Mumbai.

Results of the 11th genome sequencing declared by the city civic body Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC)  found one sample positive for XE variant and another for Kappa variant, reports said.
