Maharashtra reports 1,728 new Covid cases

Mumbai/UNI: Maharashtra has reported 1,728 fresh Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours, according to a health bulletin released on Sunday.

The state’s cumulative case tally has surged to 79,56,173, while the overall toll stood at 1,47,900 with four new deaths reported.

The bulletin said 2,708 patients were cured of the virus and discharged, taking the recovery count to 77,83,840.

The state's recovery rate significantly came down to 97.84 per cent and fatality rate stood at 1.85 per cent.

Presently, there are 24,333 active Covid-19 patients undergoing treatment in different hospitals, it added.

Meanwhile, no positive cases were reported across in the three districts of Marathwada region, the bulletin said.
