New Zealand reports 6,223 new cases of Covid-19

Wellington/UNI/Xinhua: New Zealand reported 6,223 new community cases of Covid-19 on Sunday, said the Ministry of Health in a statement.

The ministry also reported 733 current hospitalizations including 16 cases in ICU and 22 deaths from Covid-19 on Sunday.

In addition, there were 270 new cases of Covid-19 that have recently travelled overseas, according to the ministry.

The case, death and hospitalization numbers of Covid-19 emphasized the importance of everybody doing the basics well to help prevent infection and serious illness, said the ministry.

New Zealand has reported 1,490,606 confirmed cases of Covid-19 since the beginning of the pandemic and is currently under the orange settings of the Covid-19 Protection Framework, where there is no limit for gatherings.
