Pakistan: Balochistan reports 462 new HIV/AIDS cases
Pakistan's Balochistan region has reported 462 new cases of HIV/AIDS in recent times, taking the total number of registered patients in the province to 2,823.
Highlighting the situation of the Pakistani region, Dr Zulfiqar Baloch, the coordinator of the Balochistan AIDS Control Programme said six districts in the province have been identified as high-risk areas for the disease.
Zulfiqar Baloch emphasised that there is a need to make people aware about the disease.
He made the statement on December 1 when the World AIDS Day was observed globally.
Baloch revealed that Quetta has the highest number of registered cases, followed by Turbat, Hub, Loralai and Nasirabad.
He warned the actual number of cases in the province could be ranging between 7000 to 9000.
