Eurozone inflation surges to a record 8.6 pc in June
Inflation surged to a record 8.6 percent in June in 19 countries that use the euro currency.
According to the EU's Euro Stat data agency, inflation in June leaped to a new high of 8.6 percent from the previous month's record 8.1 percent.
Consumer prices in the eurozone have set records since November, worsened by energy prices which soared 41.9 percent over last year as a result of the Russia-Ukraine war.
Food prices have been contributing to the rising inflation which accelerated by 8.9 percent.
