Friday Market: Sensex moves down by 1150 points

New Delhi/IBNS: Amid global fears on coronavirus, the Indian stock market witnessed major losses on Friday with benchmark indices hitting their lowest levels recorded since mid-October.

In the first few minutes since the market opened, the S&P BSE Sensex index moved down sharply by 1,155.16 points to hit 38,590.50.

At the same time, NSE Nifty benchmark nosedived to as low as 11,286.50, plunging down 346.8 points from the previous close.

At around 10.23 am, Sensex moved down 1149.47 points to stand at 38596.19

NSE Nifty stood 325.85 points down to stand at 11307.45.
