GPF and other similar funds to carry interest at the rate of 7.8 per cent

New Delhi, Oct 25 (IBNS): The Union Ministry of Finance announced on Wednesday the interest rate for the General Provident Fund and other similar funds for the October-December period of the current financial year.

During the Financial Year 2017-18, accumulations at the credit of subscribers to the General Provident Fund (GPF) and other similar funds shall carry interest at the rate of 7.8 per cent with effect from Oct 1, 2017 to December 31, 2017.

This rate will be in force with effect from October 1, 2017, it was announced.
