ICAI holds awareness programme in Kolkata for CAs

Kolkata, May 13 (IBNS): Eastern India Regional Council of The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) hosted an Awareness Programme on IFRS Converged Indian Accounting Standards (Ind AS) organised by Ind AS (IFRS) Implementation Committee, ICAI

Held on  May 8 at The Lalit Great Eastern, Kolkata. the Seminar was attended by  CA Pramod Dayal Rungta, Chairman, EIRC of ICAI; CA Anirban Datta, Vice-Chairman, EIRC; CA Ranjeet Kr. Agarwal & Others.

Ind AS (IFRS) Implementation Committee of the ICAI, in view of notification of IFRS-converged Indian Accounting Standards (Ind AS), has decided to made rigorous efforts to educate members and other stakeholders about Ind AS. The Committee, among other task, has decided to conduct One Day and Two Days Awareness Programmes on Ind AS at various locations across the country.

The speakers who deliberated in the Seminar were CA Amarjit Chopra, Past President, ICAI, CA Dolphy D’Souza, E & Y, Mumbai, CA Jamil Ahmed Khatri, KPMG, Mumbai, CA Anand Subramanian, DELOITTE, Mumbai, CA PankajChadha, S.R. Batliboi& Co., LLP, Delhi

The aim of these programmes is to create awareness about concepts, principles enunciated in new financial reporting Standards and how accounting would be different under these Ind AS compared to existing Accounting Standards.
