India Market: Sensex up over 400 pts

Mumbai/UNI: The BSE Sensex on Monday rallied by 480.99 pts at 49,213.54 in opening trade on the strength of Bankex, Materials, Consumer Discretionary Goods and Services and Energy stocks.

The Nifty too rose by 121 pts to 14,798.90.

The Sensex registered intra days high and low at 49,256.52 and 48,923.13 pts respectively.

The Nifty registered intra days high and low at 14,824.70 and 14,725.35 respectively.

The Mid Cap rose by 0.78 pc and Small Cap rose by 1.05 pc.

In 30 scrips 20 advanced while 10 declined.

The gainers were Indusind Bank by 3.83 pc to Rs 925.55, Bajaj Finserv by 3.47 pc to Rs 11,348.20, SBI by 2.83 pc to Rs 370.70, Bajaj finance by 2.65 pc to Rs 5469.30 and ICICI Bank by 2.62 pc to Rs 612.90.
The losers were L& T by 1.78 pc to Rs 1390.35, NTPC by 0.85 pc to Rs 110.35, Titan by 0.84 pc to Rs 1443.75 and Bharti Airtel by 0.60 pc to Rs 557.20.
