Indian benchmark indices close lower on Wednesday , PNB in trouble
Mumbai, Feb 14 (IBNS): The Indian market closed lower on Wednesday with BSE Sensex down 144.52 points at 34,155.95 and NSE Nifty down 38.90 points to 10,500.90.
Share price of Punjab National Bank (PNB) tumbled on Wednesday following media reports that the lender has detected huge fraud in one of its Mumbai branches.
Top gainers on Wednesday included Tech Mahindra, Bharti Airtel, Adani Ports, Wipro, Tata Motors (D), Coal India and Reliance while Yes Bank, SBI, Axis Bank, Bharti Infratel , Sun Pharma and ONGC declined.
