Indian benchmark indices close lower on Wednesday

Mumbai, Dec 13 (IBNS): The Indian market closed lower on Wednesday with investors opting to sell in the final hours of the business day, according to media reports.

BSE Sensex was down 174.95 points at 33053.04 and NSE Nifty was down 47.20 points at 10193.00.

Top gainers on Wednesday included HPCL, BPCL, Kotak Mahindra, TCS, ONGC, Dr Reddy' Labs, UltraTech Cement, HUL and Bharti Infratel while Vedanta, BHEL, Cipla, Tata Motors (D), Adani Ports, SBI and Bajaj Finance declined.
