Indian market dips sharply on Friday, Nifty fails to maintain the 10,000 mark

Mumbai, Sep 22 (IBNS): Indian benchmark indices dipped sharply on Friday with BSE Sensex down 447.60 points at 31922.44 and NSE Nifty down 157.50 points at 9964.40.

The market breadth was negative with 524 shares advancig against a decline of 2,082 shares;144 shares were unchanged.

Top gainers on Friday included Wipro, Coal India, HCL Tech and Bharti Infratel while Tata Steel, L&T, Reliance, ICICI Bank, Hindalco, Vedanta, Yes Bank, Ultratech Cement and Hero Motocrop declined.
