Mumbai, Mar 2 (IBNS): Indian equity benchmarks, which rose considerably on Thursday morning, ended lower at close of business, largely due to profit taking, according to media reports.

In the opening hours on Thursday, the benchmarks hit a fresh 52-week high but erased all gains with BSE Sensex down 144.70 points at 28,839.79and NSE Nifty down 46.05 points at 8899.75.
