Indian Market: Sensex down 360 pts

Mumbai/UNI: The BSE Sensex on Monday slid 360.25 points to 40,809.87 in opening session on heavy selling across-the-board amid weak global cues.

The Nifty of National Stock Exchange (NSE) too dropped 114.80 points at 11,966.05.

The Sensex registered intra-day high and low at 41,037.01 and 40,673.38 points respectively.

The Nifty recorded day intra-day high and low at 12,012.55 and 11,923.85 points respectively.

The sectoral indices like Materials, Heslth Care, Consumer Durable, FMCG, Energy, Finance, Telecom and Utilities kept the market weak.

The losers were Tata Steel by 3.19 pc to Rs 429.55, Maruti Suzuki by 2.89 pc to Rs 6559.65, ONGC by 2.82 pc to Rs 99.95 and HDFC by 2.07 pc to Rs 2321.75.

The gainers were Infosys by 1.13 pc to Rs 805.70, Tech Mahindra by 1.05 pc to

Rs 838.30, TCS by 0.58 pc to Rs 2168.75 and SBI by 1.34 pc to Rs 328.75.
