Indian Market: Sensex down over 200 pts

Mumbai: The BSE Sensex on Friday tumbled down 230 pts to open at 65,559.41 on profit booking.

The Nifty too fell 75 points to 19,422.80.

With yesterday's historic high, the Sensex opened negative as selling was witnessed in Technology, banking, and Financial Services.

The midcap eased 0.01 pc, while the Small cap rose 0.30 pc.

In 30 scrips, 14 advanced while 16 declined.

The losers were Powergrid by 0.88 percent to Rs 260.55, Bajaj Finance by 0.82 percent to Rs 7707.75, Nestle India Ltd. by 0.74 percent to Rs 22,925.70, and Indusind Bank by 0.73 percent to Rs 1379.20.

The gainers were Titan by 3.07 pc to Rs 3201, M&M by 1.57 pc to Rs 1573.05, Reliance Industries by 0.92 pc to Rs 2662.60, and NTPC by 0.59 pc to Rs 197.70.
