Indian Market: Sensex falls 135.05 pts

Mumbai/UNI: Extending losses for the third straight sessions, the BSE Sensex on Wednesday slipped 135.05 pts to settle at 52,443.71 as selling pressure was seen in Auto, Bankex, Consumer Durable and Utilities stocks.

The Nifty too declined by 37.05 pts to 15,709.40.

The Sensex improved by 95 pts to 52,673.60 in the opening session, and it reminded day high.

Later, it tanked 776 pts to 51,802.73, days low. Till the end of the day, it was recovered from days low but ended in red only at 52,443.71, sliding by 135.05 pts from its previous close.

The Sensex registered days high and low at 52,673.69 and 51,802.73 pts respectively.

The Nifty recorded days high and low at 15,767.50 and 15,513.45 pts respectively.

The sectoral indices like Auto, Bankex, Utilities and Consumer Durable kept the market under pressure today.

The scrips that fell include Kotak Bank, Dr Reddy's Lab and M& M declined by more than two per cent each.

Powergrid and NTPC too eased by more than one per cent each.

The Small-Cap drifted lower by 0.45 pc.

In 30 scrips, 11 advanced while 19 declined.
