Indian Market: Sensex rallied 462.26 pts

Mumbai: The BSE Sensex on Friday posted another 462.26 pts gains to close high at 52,727.98 following gains in Telecom, Auto, Utilities and Power stocks.

The Nifty of National Stock Exchange (NSE) too rose 142.60 pts at 15,699.25.

The sensex opened higher at 52,654.24, rising 389 pts. During the session, it rallied 644 pts at 52,909.87, days high before closing at 52,727.98, advancing 462.26 pts from its previous close.

The sensex registered days high and low at 52,909.87 and 52,447.25 pts respectively.
The Nifty recorded days high and low at 15,749.32 and 15,619.45 respectively.
The sectoral indices like Telecom, Auto, Utilities and Power stocks kept the market strong for another day today.

In scrips, Tata motors was a star gainer, up by 4.28 pc to Rs 1072 followed by IndusInd Bank by 2.59 pc to Rs 807, Bajaj finance by 2.52 pc to Rs 5584.75, Hind Unilever by 2.22 pc to Rs 2301.70 and ICICI Bank by 2.15 pc to Rs 714.55.

The losers were Tech Mahindra by 1.04 pc to Rs 980.80, Infosys by 0.77 pc to Rs 1442, NTPC by 0.77 pc to Rs 135.30 and TCS by 0.42 pc to Rs 3295.

The Mid Cap rose by 1.53 pc and Small Cap by 1.60 pc.

In 30 scrips, 23 advanced while 7 declined.

Asian Market was seen strong as Australia was up by 1.06 pc followed by China by 0.89 pc, Hong Kong by 1.95 pc and Japan by 1.23 pc.
