Indian Market: Sensex recovers 166.07 pts
Mumbai/UNI: Snapping a losing streak of last four sessions, the BSE Sensex on Friday recovered by 166.07 pts to close at 52,484.67 on the strength of Consumer Durable, Health Care, Energy, Telecom and Realty stocks.
The Nifty too rose by 42.20 pts to 15,722.20.
Volatile trade was witnessed during the day, as the Sensex opened higher by 116 pts to 52,434.55. It rallied 209 pts to 52,527.90, days high, before closing at 52,484.67 from its previous close.
Meanwhile, it was fell by 141 pts to 52,177.68, days low.
The Sensex registered days high and low at 52,527.90 and 52,177.68 pts respectively.
The Nifty recorded days high and low at 15,738.35 and 15,635.95 pts respectively.
The sectoral indices like Consumer Durable, Health Care, Energy, Telecom and Realty stocks pushed the market up.
In scrips, the Reliance industry was a major gainer followed by ICICI Bank, SBI, HDFC and M& M.
However, selling in Tata Steel, Powergrid, Asian Paints, Sun Pharma and Bajaj Auto capped from further gains, the broker said.
The Mid Cap rose by 0.05 pc and the Small Cap by 1.01 pc.
In 30 scrips, 16 advanced while 14 declined.
