Indian Market: Sensex recovers over 200 pts

Mumbai/UNI: BSE Sensex on Friday smartly recovered by 208 pts at 39,958.56 as buying was seen across the board.

The Nifty of National Stock Exchange too rose by 68.05 pts to 11,738.85.

The Sensex registered intra days high and low at 39,988.25 and 39,636.06 pts respectively.

The Nifty registered intra days high and low at 11,748.95 and 11,637.20 respectively.

The Mid Cap was up by 1.27 pc and Small Cap by 0.78 pc.

In 30 scrips, 23 advanced while 7 declined.

The gainers were NTPC by 2.66 pc to Rs 88.75, ONGC by 2.25 pc to Rs 68.75, Nestle India by 2.28 pc to Rs 17,245.15 and HCL Technologies by 2.05 pc to Rs 857.10.

The losers were Bajaj Finance by 1.45 pc to Rs 3330.70, Maruti Suzuki by 1.31 pc to Rs 7020.95, Bharti Airtel by 0.84 pc to Rs 447 and Powergrid by 0.82 pc to 170.15.
