Indian Market: Sensex surges 455.95 pts

Mumbai: The equity market maintained rally for the fourth consecutive session on Tuesday, as the Sensex surged 455.95 points to close at 60,571.08 amid strong Asian Market.

The Nifty of National Stock Exchange (NSE) too rose 133.70 points at 18,070.05.

The Sensex went up by 293 points 60,408.29. During the day it was spurted 520 points 60,635.28 days high, before closing at 60,571.08 advancing 455.95 points from its previous close.

The Nifty recorded days high and low at 18,088.30 and 18,015.45 points respectively.

The sectoral indices like Capital Goods, Metal, FMCG and Industrials kept the rally intact.

In scrips, Bajaj Finserv was a major gainer up by 4.67 per cent to Rs 1796, IndusInd Bank by 2.20 per cent to Rs 1161.05, Bharti Airtel by 1.91 per cent to Rs 783.60, L & T by 1.52 per cent to Rs 1991.45 and HDFC Bank by 1.45 per cent to Rs 1513.80.

The Mid Cap rose by 0.32 per cent and Small Cap 0.24 per cent.

In 30 scrips, 23 advanced while 7 declined.

The Asian Market remained strong as Australia rose by 0.63 per cent, China by 0.05 per cent, Japan by 0.25 per cent and Taiwan by 0.59 per cent.
