Indian Market: Sensex up 307.66 pts

Mumbai/UNI: The BSE Sensex remained strong for the third straight session on Friday as it rallied 307.66 to close at 51,422.88 following gains in Energy, Telecom, Metal and Oil and Gas stocks.

The Nifty rose by 97.80 pts to 15,435.65.

In opening trade, the Sensex advanced 246 pts to 51,381.27. It surged 414 pts to 51,529.32 days high before closing at 51,422.88, up by 307.66 pts from its previous close.

The sensex registered days high and low at 51,529.32 and 51,258.69 pts respectively.

The Nifty recorded days high and low at 15,469.65 and 15,394.75 pts respectively. The sectoral indices like Energy, Telecom, Metal and Oil and Gas boosted the same.

In scrips, Reliance industries, M& M, HDFC Bank, HDFC and Kotak Bank increased while selling in Sun Pharma, Bajaj Finserv, Nestle India and ICICI Bank capped from further gains, broker informed.

The Mid Cap fell by 0.12 pc and Small Cap by 0.48 pc.

In 30 scrips, 13 advanced while 17 declined.
