Indian Market: Sensex up over 200 pts

Mumbai, May 25 (UNI) The BSE Sensex on Tuesday edged up by 271 pts to open at 50,922.32 as buying was seen in Utilities, Health Care, Industrials and Auto stocks.

The Nifty too rose by 32.30 pts to 15,230.

The Sensex registered intra days high and low at 50,961.35 and 50,709.30 pts respectively.

The Nifty registered intra days high and low at 15,293.85 and 15,223.05 pts respectively.

The Mid Cap moved up by 0.32 pc and Small Cap by 0.51 pc.

In 30 scrips 20 advanced while 10 declined.

The gainers were Asian Paints by 2.61 pc to Rs 2892.60, Titan by 2.47 pc to Rs 1558, ONGC by 2.35 pc to Rs 115.65, Nestle India by 1.87 pc to t 17,700 and Bajaj Finserv by 1.56 pc to Rs 11,336.40.

The losers were HDFC Bank by 1.87 pc to 1481.10, Axis Bank by 1.44 pc to Rs 730.25, Indus Ind Bank by 0.94 pc to Rs 994.65 and SBI by 0.79 pc to Rs 408.80.
