Mumbai/UNI: The Rupee on Tuesday slid by 87 paise to close negative at 73.38 against the US Dollar on rising demand for the US Dollar by bankers and importers, dealers at the Forex Market said.

In early trade, the domestic unit fell by 27 paise to 72.78. Later, it further lost by 87 paise to close negative at 73.38 as compared to its last close.

The Rupee registered days high and low at 73.42 and 72.75 respectively.

The domestic dropped because of strong Dollar against other world currencies amid positive global cues.
