Indian Rupee drops 43 paise against USD

Mumbai: The Rupee on Tuesday tumbled 43 paise to close at 78.77 against the USD on rising demand for US Dollar from bankers and importers, dealers at the Foreign Exchange said.

The local unit that slid 31 paise at 78.64 in opening trade lost further and finished at 78.77, down 43 paise as compared to its previous close.

The Rupee registered the day's high and low at 78.60 and 78.81 respectively against the US Dollar, the dealers added.
